ππ Copper Spade Tail Wild Betta splendens Male | Blackwater Line
The Copper Spade Tail Wild Betta splendens Male represents a return to natural formβselected for health, structure, and authentic copper expression that develops best in tannin-rich blackwater environments. This is a wild-style splendens with a classic spade-shaped tail, bred for endurance and balance rather than exaggerated finnage.
This listing is intended for keepers who value natural behavior, subtle coloration, and long-term vitality.
π Blackwater Copper Expression
In blackwater, the body darkens and stabilizes. Over time, a warm copper sheen emerges across the scalesβsoft, earthy, and understated. π€β¨ The color resembles oxidized metal and wet leaf litter under filtered light.
Copper tones are strongest under low lighting with stable parameters. In bright or sterile tanks, coloration may appear muted. This fish reveals itself gradually as stress fades and conditions settle.
The spade tail form reflects traditional wild splendens geneticsβcompact, functional, and built for steady swimming.
πΏ Recommended Blackwater Setup

- βοΈ Natural driftwood and leaf litter
- βοΈ Soft, slightly acidic water

Fish came in super healthy and active. Water was that tea color (blackwater) and honestly I think that helped a lot.
Jason M. 5/5 Verified
This place has the most consistent selection and the healthiest bettas I have ever seen.
Douglas D. 5/5 Verified
This little guy is absolutely stunning! His colors are more like an ever changing oil slick as he moves about the tank. He arrived healthy, is very inquisitive, and adapting to his new environment very nicely. Sorry the video isn't that great. He's not a very "sit in one spot" Betta. Kai and the rest of the team are very quick to answer any of my questions. 5βοΈ's! Highly recommend.

Not sure what special water he arrived in but heβs been visibly unwell since arrival. I responded earlier and got no response. Now iβll leave a public response. I dont want my money back. I dont want to scoop another dead fish i try to give a good life.
